Echoes of Eternity | Fantasy-Sci-fi Book Cover

When school starts, another evergreen process begins— writers seek out covers for dark academia and school related stories. In this science fiction fantasy twist on the genre, Echoes of Eternity features staples of the genre but also some unique elements due to the science fiction aspect.

Featuring an academy building and a teenage student, I decided to bring in bright colors like teal and bright purple to set the cover apart.

Want to see what the writer asked for? You can check out an excerpt from the request below. How do you think I did?

The request: “A zoomed-in figure (a teenage boy) seen only from the nose down, with somewhat longish, bob-like, midnight purple hair visible, dressed in a skin-tight black shirt, black leather jacket, black pants, and black combat boots. He’s holding a sword that’s held sharply at his side, pointed downwards (you know, just regularly like), with a black bottom-half face mask covering the little bit of his face that’s seen, along with a plain black choker rapping around his otherwise bare neck, along with a pair of black gloves (preferably artist type gloves that only cover the palm and two fingers) on both hands. He’s standing in front of a large open iron gate that has vining roses crawling up the two bottom corners of it and a large school/academy building rising up behind both of them (the gate and the boy).”
