Daughter of the Seven Hills | Book Cover

The fate of Rome lies in the hands of a healer in Daughter of the Seven Hills, Margaret McNellis’s upcoming historical fiction book. Following Aurelia as she navigates intrigue and conspiracy and experiences a whole new culture that she may have once considered “barbaric”, the book releases on May 21st, 2024 and is available for e-book pre-order on Amazon now!

With its themes of healing, self-discovery, adventure, and, of course, history, I couldn’t resist making a cover for Daughter of the Seven Hills. Working together with Margaret to discuss key objects like herbs, fire, and a golden torc (a Viking necklace), the cover came together surprisingly quickly.

Going with a burnt-orange spine to match the fire and gold on the cover, as well as to give it a classic, historical fiction look, the paperback wrap features a continuous image that pulls the multiple cultures in from start to finish. I am super excited to see how all of these elements play a role in the story and can’t wait to read it myself!
