Magic potions, far-off worlds, royalty, cold and enchanting flowers, and more all combine in Awaken by Jamie Michelle!
Coming in Spring 2024, Awaken follows Addy Fawcett, an herbalist, as she is exiled into a magical world– the same magical world that Nightstalkers, the blood-thirsty creatures of the night that killed her parents when she was a child, are from. With the help of Kate Raybarker, a disgraced princess, Addy tries to not only find the belonging she’s always wished for, but also stay alive long enough to enjoy it.

When Jamie’s request came in I was so excited, not just because of the amazing requests she had for the cover (magic and flowers? Love it!), but also because back in 2014 or so on Wattpad, Jamie’s works were some of the first I ever read on the site! I remember being 16 years old and binge reading one of her books in one sitting. Back then, Wattpad was more known for OneDirection fanfiction than original works and it was books like Jamie’s that really showed that the site and the writers on it had more potential than just a place for fanfic.
It is this memory, of the magic of a good book, and the still thriving writing community there that makes me still happy to make covers on the site. While I could spend my extra free time making pre-made book covers or writing my own works, when I have space in my commissions queue I genuinely love to make covers for the wattpad community. It makes my day to create something that a writer can be happy and proud of, no matter their age, their experience, or their budget.
