November is National Novel Writing Month, which is part of an event lovingly called NaNoWriMo for participants. The idea is to write 50,000 words in a month, thereby, writing a barebones first draft of a novel or a good portion of a longer novel.
I’ve participated many a time (finishing three!), but this year, in addition to participating, I also decided to make some covers for participants. These covers will likely never be used outside of the site, but it’s a fun gift to give to an unsuspecting writer working their butt off trying to make 50,000 words happen.
This particular writer requested a cover featuring a girl with long black hair, a red and white dress, magic that was shaped like blood, a palace in the background, and an overall dark atmosphere. So, that’s what I tried to give them!
I’ve made a handful of other covers as well that I’ll post soon, but this was one I’m particularly fond of.
